MEDICAL HISTORY

The following is a brief overview of Evan’s medical challenges since birth. For a more detailed summary, checkout the Medical Timeline section found in the back
of An Autumn Called Evan – Life with an Exceptional Child.

During the birth process, Evan suffered both meconium aspiration and severe birth asphyxia. As a result, he’s lived with severe epilepsy, severe developmental delays that resulted in needing 24/7 one-on-one personal care. Evan received
his first g-tube at 5 months – a corrected g-tube surgery at age 7; his tracheostomy at age 2-1/2, bilateral ear tubes at 3-1/2, and to date has
weathered 14 bouts of pneumonia.
