September
2005
What a busy month September has been!
On the 4th, Evan celebrated another birthday. The boy who wasn’t
supposed to live to see his 1st birthday celebrated #15! The “old
man” had a happy day, complete with new CD’s to listen
to, new movies to watch, and phone calls from well-wishers.
As a freshman at Lawrence High School, Evan is taking 3 classes
this quarter – Music, Phys. Ed, and Ancient History. Check
out the photos from when Evan participated in a presentation in his
Ancient History Class.
A few weeks ago Evan tired golfing! For Christmas last year, Evan
gave his dad an afternoon of golf with one of his favorite teachers
(Evan won the chance in a fundraiser raffle at his school). What
fun we had! It was a true family outing with Ian caddying for Evan’s
teacher, Coach P., Coach P pushing Evan in
his wheelchair ALL over
that golf course – thank goodness – Jon trying his hand
at a new sport, and I was chief photographer. Once I get the film
developed, I’ll post a few pix of our golf outing for all to
see.
May 2005
Evan is currently enjoying
his well-deserved summer vacation from school. He completed
8th grade on June 21st,
and will be heading to Lawrence High School
as a freshman come this — wow!
Evan eagerly awaited the release
of the newest Harry Potter, and as this is being typed, he is listening
to the book on CD. Every time I go in to see him today I
keep
getting the "Don't bug me Ma, I'm busy!" look. Oh,
well, I've got to say I do appreciate these displays appropriate
teen-age attitude.
Family activates for August
include a state fair, a "labstah" festival, and at least
one or two
more outings to the cinema — we all enjoy it, but Evan especially
LOVED Jessica Alba in her superhero suit!
